CMIE
The Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem (CMIE) represents a dynamic, nation-wide community that is dedicated to strengthening the Canadian medical isotope sector by providing resources to connect organizations, create new jobs, and through their development fund (CMIEDF), fund next generation medical isotope programs.
Led by the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization and TRIUMF Innovations, the CMIEDF is backed by the Government of Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund. The CMIEDF is an $80M initiative that aims to unite a diverse array of stakeholders in the medical isotope sector and to accelerate technology development and commercialization.
The CMIEDF offers financial support to innovators, developers, and academic institutions in Canada, specifically in the field of radiopharmaceutical and medical isotope technologies. This funding is designed to expedite the progress of early-stage programs, thereby creating a continuous pipeline for development and eventual commercialization.
As a co-lead of the CMIE, CPDC is responsible for the management and execution of CMIE network activities, including the CMIEDF. To learn more about CMIE, please visit cmie.ca.
