Owen Roberts, CFA

Chief Executive Officer

Owen Roberts joined CPDC in October 2022 as CEO bringing over 20 years of biotech executive experience to his role at CPDC.

A serial biotech entrepreneur, Owen was most recently the founder and CEO of Nobelex Biotech Inc., a Canadian biotech contract research organization focused on discovering and developing antibiotics to treat bacterial infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria. In addition to leading Nobelex since 2014, Owen also held part-time senior management roles with Meta Inc. (as CFO from 2015-2016) and M4K Pharma (as CEO from 2017 to 2020).

Prior to founding Nobelex in 2014, Owen was a co-founder of Affinium Pharmaceuticals, a privately held venture funded, clinical stage, antibiotic company. At Affinium, Owen held the position of CFO and led the company’s finance and business development until the successful sale of Affinium’s antibiotic programs to Debiopharm International, S.A. in February 2014.

Prior to Affinium, in 1998, Owen helped create Borealis Biosciences, one of two companies which would merge to form Affinium in 2000. Prior to entering biotech, Owen was a financial executive at the Canadian subsidiaries of major US financial institutions.

Owen is a graduate of McGill University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Catherine Love, MSc, CFA

Vice President, Business Development and Investments

Catherine Love joined CPDC in 2024 as Vice President, Business Development and Investments, bringing over 20 years life science and biotechnology experience to the company.

Prior to joining CPDC, Catherine held senior roles across Canada in sell-side equity research, venture capital and drug royalty investing, corporate investor relations & finance, and not-for-profit innovation organizations.  As a member of CPDC’s leadership team, Catherine heads business development and investments, as well as the evaluation and execution of other strategic initiatives. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from McGill University, Master of Science degree in organic chemistry from the University of Toronto, and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Oscar Grilli, P.Eng.

Vice President, Quality Operations

Oscar Grilli first joined CPDC in May 2019 as the Quality Assurance Director and returned in June 2024 in his current role, bringing over 20 years of managerial experience across pharmaceuticals, CMOs, vaccines, cosmetics, radiopharmaceuticals, and engineering firms. 

He has successfully implemented GMP quality systems, validation programs for both existing and new facilities, routine monitoring programs, training programs, improvement initiatives, and hosting several regulatory inspections across multinational companies. His extensive experience also includes managing various Quality functions such as Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Sterility Assurance, Technology Transfer, and Analytical Development.

As a member of CPDC’s Leadership Team, Oscar provides strategic vision, leadership, and functional expertise, working closely with other key functional areas. His focus is on delivering Quality expertise and strategic guidance to CPDC, supporting the establishment and improvement of QMS for CPDC’s associated partners, and fostering the company’s business growth.

Oscar holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario.

Martin Poirier

Vice President, Contract Research

Martin Poirier joined CPDC in April 2025 as Vice President, Contract Research, bringing over 25 years of pharmaceutical industry experience to the company. 

Prior to joining CPDC, Martin held senior leadership roles across North America working for various contract research organizations. Martin gained extensive experience leading cross-functional teams in several scientific disciplines such as bioanalysis, biomarkers, immunology and toxicology in all stages of drug development including discovery, research models, preclinical and clinical testing.

As a member of CPDC’s leadership team, Martin provides strategic vision, team leadership, scientific and operational management, and client engagement, working closely with other key functional areas. This role involves working directly with clients and CRO service partners to provide specialized support for research and preclinical radiotherapeutics and diagnostics development.

Martin is a graduate of INRS-Santé in Experimental Health Sciences.

Randy Peterson, PhD, MBA

Vice President, Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem (CMIE)

A strategic advocate and seasoned operator in the radiopharmaceutical sector, Dr. Randy Peterson has worked at the industry’s highest levels since 2020.

Most recently, as chief operating officer at RadioMedix, Dr. Peterson orchestrated the operational execution of  scaling and manufacturing of cutting-edge therapeutic and isotope products.

Dr. Peterson joins the CMIE bringing a valuable blend of regulatory expertise, tactical commercialization experience, and an elite industry network.

Cory Mulvihill, PhD, CFA

Associate Vice President, Strategy & External Affairs

Cory Mulvihill is Associate Vice President, Strategy & External Affairs at CPDC, where he leads external strategy, government engagement, and public funding positioning in support of major national initiatives and partnerships within Canada’s radiopharmaceutical and health innovation ecosystem. He works closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape engagement across provincial, federal, and international stakeholders, and to align CPDC’s scientific capabilities with policy priorities, funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
 
Cory brings more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of government, public policy, and innovation strategy. Prior to joining CPDC, he held senior leadership roles at the MaRS Discovery District, including Chief of Staff and Vice President, Ecosystem Development, where he supported organizational strategy and contributed to major national initiatives, including the development of Canada’s Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster (NGen). Earlier in his career, he served twice as Ministerial Chief of Staff in the Government of Ontario, overseeing the Training, Colleges & Universities and Research & Innovation portfolios, and acting as a key interface between government and the province’s post-secondary sector.
 
He holds a PhD in Biochemistry and is a CFA Charterholder.

Ruth Organ, CPA

Sr. Director, Controller, Finance and Administration

Ruth Organ joined CPDC in 2023 as the Sr. Director, Controller, Finance and Administration. Ruth brings over 20 years of experience in strategic financial leadership roles across Canada from various industries, including communications, advertising & publishing, manufacturing and construction. Ruth has led diverse domestic and global teams in finance, accounting and regulatory, and multi year, company wide transformational projects and initiatives.

As a member of the leadership team, Ruth is responsible for the finance operations, HR, IT and administrative initiates as well as managing the financial aspects of various grant programs.

Ruth is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds her undergraduate degree from University of Waterloo.

Karen Stanger, MSc, PMP

Directrice principale de la gestion de projets

Karen Stanger a rejoint Cadena Research et CPDC en septembre 2025 en tant que directrice principale de la gestion de projets, forte de plus de 15 ans d’expérience dans le développement de médicaments, les opérations commerciales et la gestion d’alliances stratégiques dans les secteurs de la biotechnologie, de l’industrie pharmaceutique, des entreprises en démarrage et des organisations à but non lucratif.

Avant de nous rejoindre, Karen a dirigé des équipes de développement de médicaments, de la recherche préclinique aux études cliniques de validation de principe, apportant une expertise approfondie en gestion de programmes, gouvernance de portefeuille et stratégie opérationnelle. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions précédentes, Karen a acquis une expérience directe dans la gestion d’équipes interfonctionnelles de développement de médicaments travaillant à l’avancement de produits radiopharmaceutiques destinés à des applications oncologiques. 

En tant que directrice principale de la gestion de projets chez Cadena Research, Karen travaille directement avec nos clients et nos partenaires de services ORC pour superviser la planification, l’exécution et la livraison de projets complexes de R&D, de développement et de radiopharmacie préclinique.

Elle est titulaire d’une maîtrise en biochimie de l’Université de Toronto et d’une licence en biologie avec mention de l’Université de Waterloo.

Verkin Khajadourian, MSc, MBA

Directrice, Développement commercial

Verkin Khajadourian a rejoint Cadena Research et CPDC en mars 2026 en tant que directrice du développement commercial, forte de 25 ans d’expérience dans le développement de produits pharmaceutiques et la gestion opérationnelle.

Avant de rejoindre CPDC, Verkin a occupé divers postes opérationnels et commerciaux au sein de plusieurs organismes de recherche sous contrat. Tout au long de sa carrière, elle a acquis des connaissances et une expérience approfondies en toxicologie et en sciences analytiques/bioanalytiques, apportant son soutien à des programmes de développement de médicaments à toutes les étapes, de la découverte aux essais cliniques.

En tant que directrice du développement commercial chez Cadena Research, Verkin se concentre sur la croissance de l’entreprise en établissant des relations solides avec des partenaires pharmaceutiques et biotechnologiques. Elle travaille avec différentes équipes fonctionnelles pour fournir des solutions de recherche sur mesure et aider les organisations à naviguer dans les complexités du développement préclinique dans le domaine des produits radiopharmaceutiques.

Elle est titulaire d’un master en chimie ainsi que d’un MBA.

Natasha Gill-Lincoln

Sr. Director, Human Resources (Fractional – BridgeBright Search & Advisory)

Natasha Gill-Lincoln joined CPDC through BridgeBright Search & Advisory in September 2025 as Fractional Sr. Director, Human Resources. She brings over 15 years of progressive HR leadership experience across global technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and complex matrixed organizations.

Prior to joining BridgeBright as an independent advisor, Natasha served as Senior Leader, Business Partners at Shopify, supporting executives within the company’s largest global division. In this role, she led a high-performing HR team responsible for enterprise talent strategy, organizational design, workforce restructuring, and performance transformation initiatives across North America, EMEA, and APAC. She partnered closely with senior leaders to align people strategy with business growth objectives and led significant change initiatives in a rapidly evolving environment.

Earlier in her career, Natasha held HR leadership roles at Innomar Strategies (AmerisourceBergen), SNC-Lavalin, and Takeda, focusing on talent management, succession planning, DEI strategy, and M&A integration.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Carleton University and is a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner.

Holly Bilton, PhD

Associate Director, Business Development

Holly Bilton joined CPDC in 2019, and currently holds the title of Associate Director, Business Development. In her current role, Dr. Bilton is responsible for leading and supporting initiatives in business development and is the current Executive Chair for the Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem (CMIE).

Holly has over 10 years’ experience in radiopharmaceutical development. Prior to joining CPDC, Holly obtained her PhD from McMaster University under Dr. John Valliant, focusing on the discovery and development of radiopharmaceuticals and multimodal imaging probes.

Meenalochani Sivasubramanian, PhD

Associate Director, Clinical Programs

Meenalochani Sivasubramanian joined CPDC in December 2022 as the Associate Director, Clinical Programs. In her current role, Dr. Sivasubramanian manages the PSMA 1007 clinical program at CPDC.

Dr. Sivasubramanian has a PhD in Neuroscience from the National University of Singapore and over 8 years of experience as a postdoctoral fellow working on various neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders of the brain, elucidating pathophysiologic mechanisms and potential treatment strategies for drug addictions, schizophrenia, Huntington Disease and Parkinson’s disease. Prior to joining here Meena worked as a Program Manager managing the operations of the Slaight Family Centre for Advanced MRI at UHN.

Zainab Ahmad, PhD

Senior Manager, Business Development

Zainab Ahmad joined CPDC in 2022, and currently holds the title of Manager, Business Development. In her current role, Zainab is responsible for managing CPDC’s diagnostics portfolio as well as supporting other licensing and investment opportunities. 

Zainab has over 10 years of experience in radiopharmaceuticals having completed her PhD at McMaster University under Dr. John Valliant focusing on the discovery and development of small molecule- and nanoparticle-based radiopharmaceuticals. Prior to joining CPDC, Zainab worked as a Regulatory Consultant. 

Uzair Sayani, PhD

Senior Manager, Research

Uzair Sayani joined CPDC in June 2024 as the External Research Manager.

In his current role, Dr. Sayani manages CPDC’s current and future R&D radiopharmaceutical projects.

Uzair has over 6 years of experience in  radiochemistry and molecular imaging, having completed his PhD at University of Ottawa under Dr. Benjamin Rotstein focusing on advancing key diagnostic and therapeutic radiotracers to improve patient outcomes.

Uzair has a Bachelor of Science from Brock University in Biotechnology. Prior to joining CPDC, Uzair worked as a translational radiochemist in a GMP manufacturing facility producing radiopharmaceuticals for use in clinical development.

Mansura Mustary

Manager, GMP Support (Quality Operations)

Mansura Mustary joined CPDC in 2025 and currently holds the position of Manager, GMP Support (Quality Operations). She brings over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical industries, with specialized expertise in sterility assurance, regulatory compliance, and quality operations. Her background includes more than eight years in management roles, with additional strengths in audit management, quality investigations, validation, and technology transfer.

As a key member of CPDC’s Quality Team, Mansura provides technical assistance on GMP and Quality Assurance to various radiopharmaceutical manufacturing sites across Canada with the objectives to help them develop and enhance their level of GMP compliance to meet regulatory expectations.

Mansura holds an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Toronto. She also earned a diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology and a graduate certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations from Seneca College, and pursuing Quality Auditor certification through the American Society for Quality (ASQ), reflecting her commitment to ongoing professional development.

Mohamed Mohammad, MBDC

Manager, Business Development

Mohamed Mohammad joined CPDC in 2024 as Manager, Business Development. Mohamed graduated from McMaster University with a Master’s in Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization, and has  dedicated his career to working with nonprofit organizations.

In addition to business development, Mohamed plays a supporting role for the Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem (CMIE). Mohamed has a strong foundation in both the science and business aspects of the Biotech sector. In his role, he aims to drive growth and foster strategic partnerships to drive the goal of making nuclear medicine available for all Canadians.

Laurie Heynings

Accountant/Bookkeeper

Laurie Heynings joined CPDC in 2025 as an Accountant/Bookkeeper. Laurie has over 20 years of experience in various industries, including Non-Profit, Marketing, Construction and Manufacturing. As a member of the finance team, Laurie is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions. Laurie holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Brock University and an Honours Accounting diploma from Humber College.

Natasha Gill-Lincoln

Directrice des ressources humaines (à temps partiel – BridgeBright Search & Advisory)

Natasha Gill-Lincoln a rejoint le CPDC par l’intermédiaire de BridgeBright Search & Advisory en septembre 2025 en tant que directrice principale des ressources humaines à temps partiel. Elle apporte plus de 15 ans d’expérience dans des postes de direction aux ressources humaines, acquise au sein d’entreprises internationales des secteurs de la technologie, de la santé et de l’industrie pharmaceutique, ainsi que dans des structures organisationnelles matricielles complexes.

Avant de rejoindre BridgeBright en tant que consultante indépendante, Natasha occupait le poste de responsable senior des partenariats commerciaux chez Shopify, où elle accompagnait les cadres dirigeants de la plus grande division mondiale de l’entreprise. À ce titre, elle a dirigé une équipe RH hautement performante chargée de la stratégie de gestion des talents, de la conception organisationnelle, de la restructuration des effectifs et des initiatives de transformation des performances en Amérique du Nord, dans la zone EMEA et dans la région APAC. Elle a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec les dirigeants pour aligner la stratégie RH sur les objectifs de croissance de l’entreprise et a mené d’importantes initiatives de changement dans un environnement en constante évolution.

Au début de sa carrière, Natasha a occupé des postes de direction dans les ressources humaines chez Innomar Strategies (AmerisourceBergen), SNC-Lavalin et Takeda, où elle s’est concentrée sur la gestion des talents, la planification de la relève, la stratégie DEI et l’intégration des fusions-acquisitions.

Elle est titulaire d’une licence en sociologie et anthropologie de l’université Carleton et est certifiée « Change Practitioner » par Prosci.

Karen Stanger joined Cadena Research and CPDC in Sept 2025, as Sr. Director, Project Management, bringing with her over 15 years experience working in drug development, business operations, and strategic alliance management across biotechnology, pharmaceutical, start-up, and not-for-profit sectors.

Prior to joining us, Karen managed drug development teams from pre-clinical research through to proof-of-concept clinical studies, bringing deep expertise in program management, portfolio governance, and operational strategy. In her previous roles, Karen has direct experience in managing cross-functional drug development teams working to advance radiopharmaceutical products for oncology applications. 

As Sr. Director, Project Management for Cadena Research, Karen works directly with our clients and CRO service partners to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex R&D, development and preclinical radiopharmaceutical projects.

She holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry from U of T, and an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo.

Verkin Khajadourian, MSc, MBA

Director, Business Development

Verkin Khajadourian joined Cadena Research and CPDC in March 2026, as Director, Business Development, bringing with her 25 years of drug development and business operations experience.

Prior to joining CPDC, Verkin held various operational and commercial positions across different contract research organizations. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive knowledge and experience in toxicology and analytical/bioanalytical sciences supporting drug development programs in all stages from discovery to clinical testing.

As Director of Business Development at Cadena Research, Verkin focuses on growing the business by building meaningful relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech partners. She works across functional teams to deliver tailored research solutions, helping organizations navigate the complexities of preclinical development in the radiopharmaceutical space.

She holds a Master of Science in Chemistry as well as an MBA.
